The happy team were on hand for the launch of new branding for our client Bards Walk, a shopping arcade in Stratford-upon-Avon. Local shoppers were treated to a day of fun and were invited to discover special offers at the arcade.
Celebrating with a balloon launch day to raise money for local charity, The Shakespeare Hospice, the official unveiling was performed by Mayor of Stratford-upon-Avon, William Dowling.
He joined shoppers as they took in all the fun of the day with music and entertainment from Touch FM, balloon modelling, raffle prizes, special offers available in stores and, the main feature of the day, the launch of 500 balloons.
The late Indian summer added to the celebratory atmosphere in the town centre and helped to make sure that everyone who attended had a great day. Those who took part in the launch will have witnessed their Bards Walk balloonsflying off into the sunshine in the hope that it will be discovered in a far-away location to win the £250 voucher prize.
The arcade has been at the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon town centre since 1989. Now, in its twenty second year, Bards Walk has been given a makeover and the public got their first official opportunity to see the fresh, new branding and discover just what Stratford’s only undercover shopping arcade has to offer.
Susan James, Arcade Manager, said that the new arcade highlights Stratford-upon-Avon’s creativity and charm. “We’re proud of being in the heart of Stratford. Our new look offers shoppers something a little bit different. Aswell as enjoying the tea room and other amenities, there is a host of unusual things for shoppers to buy, from fashion, quirky gifts and art through to sweets from the old-fashioned sweet shop. The new branding reflects our unique quality, giving people cheerful new signage and a brightened atmosphere in which to shop and relax.”
The Mayor officially launched the balloons from the Meer Street entrance as everyone gathered to see the spectacle. Mr Dowling said “The new look to Bards Walk adds something different and exciting to Stratford town centre and to see everyone coming out to support the Shakespeare Hospice and their local retailers has been great.”
To support the charity who offer palliative care to those with life limiting illnesses, Bards Walk shopping bags were being given out on the day and shoppers were asked to make a donation when they received their bag. Over £200 was raised over the event and a cheque presented to the Hospice.
Bards Walk now awaits the return of its balloons to see just how far they have spread the word about Stratford-upon-Avon and the lucky winner will be announced soon. Keep an eye on the Bards Walk website www.discoverbardswalk.co.uk to find out where the balloons travelled to and to keep up to date on the future plans for the arcade.
